Bio

Corey Rogers

I recently completed a bachelor's degree in software development as part of a career change to pursue my long-held interest in technology. I believe that technology has the potential to greatly improve many aspects of our lives and to help us address some of our biggest global challenges. Before studying computer science, I spent nine years building a successful law firm in Seattle, and I was constantly amazed by the advancements that technology brought to the legal industry and to the wider business world during that time. Now that I've finished my software development degree, I'm excited to begin full-time work as a software engineer.

Elevator Pitch

My name is Corey Rogers, and I enjoy engineering solutions to complex programming problems. Through past experience founding a successful law firm, I developed a keen eye for identifying solutions that drive business growth. In my last six years with the firm, I created systems and implemented changes that led to an average annual growth rate of 31.4% each year. As a software engineer, I work to apply my business skills to my development projects.

I’m specifically interested in software engineering for commerce, and I enjoy developing websites and programs that make it easier for businesses to interact with their customers. I always try to view a client’s issue in the wider business context so I can identify the technical solution that best meets my client’s overall needs. I’m searching for a position as a full-stack software engineer, and I’d love an opportunity to send you my resume.

CheaprEats Table Management System

I developed a table management desktop application for vendor restaurant owners as part of a Scrum team. Vendors can create and modify restaurant layouts in the application, including the layout of their tables as well as seating arrangements depending on the seat count needed.

Vendors can create tables of specific types and capacity, assign table identifiers, seat guests at specific tables, and quickly determine whether a table is occupied, reserved, or open.

Technologies used in this project include React, TypeScript, Styled Components, Storybook, Node.js, and Gatsby.

PkgSquirrel Inventory Management App

PkgSquirrel is a supply chain inventory management application that lets users track packages, check in deliveries, and monitor warehouse inventory through a single dashboard. Our application interfaces with the EasyPost API to allow businesses to track incoming packages from multiple carriers in one easy-to-use interface.

I created this application with two other interns during my CodeLabs internship with CodeDay in July and August of 2020. We used React, Express.js, Node.js, and MongoDB to build this project.
